POOL NOTES 48
Newsletter for Friends of Narberth Pool
To thrive, we need your continued support for your community swimming pool
SwimNarberth: In November 2014 (nearly three years ago!!) we ceased to be a municipal pool, we are now a community owned pool, named and registered as ‘SwimNarberth CIO’
Civic Week started on Sunday 23rd July
Monday 24th was our Funday; it sold out by Monday morning so we had to put on an extra session. The total raised was £1272.90!!! so thanks to all who took part. Despite the disruption at the pool with the building works, we still managed to put a float in the Carnival and great fun was had by all. Greatful thanks to Kelly and everyone who help with these events to support Civic Week and Carnival.
Building work moves on apace!
The external building work has been completed, a new Air handling unit has been installed and all the wiring for the PV panels has been moved to accommodate the extension. The inside has progressed well, the ladies changing facility is ready for the finishes, all windows and doors have been installed and most of the electrics are complete. On 23rd October the building will close for two weeks to allow builders access all areas. Building Contractors are on time with everything to date.
As anticipated, there has been quite a lot disruption for our customers as the builders are still refiguring the changing rooms but our customers have been wonderfully supportive and our staff members are marvellous. Hopefully, when we come back in two weeks time it will be a little easier as most of the dust will have gone.
We are trying to keep the community informed with posters in the changing rooms, in our Pool Notes, on our Facebook page and on our web page.
Grant news: Work started on 7th July 2017 and hopefully will be completed by February 2018!!
We are afraid there has been lots of disruption, but the contractors have tried to work around our schedule as much as possible because we cannot afford to close the pool at all if we can possibly help it.
Hopefully everyone will be understanding and continue to swim as much as they can and manage to enjoy the experience despite the building work. While we want everyone to take an interest in how the work is progressing, we ask that everyone keeps well away from the work area and abides by all the Health & Safety requirements. Thank you.

IRON MAN was a great success AGAIN!!
