POOL NOTES 47
Newsletter for Friends of Narberth Pool
To thrive, we need your continued support for your community swimming pool
SwimNarberth: In November 2014, over 2 years ago!! we ceased to be a municipal pool, we are now a community owned pool, named and registered as ‘SwimNarberth CIO’
Civic Week starts on Sunday 23rd July
Monday 24th is our Funday, help always needed and anyone who wants can help with the float on Saturday 29th for Carnival.
Grant news: Work starts 7th July 2017!!
We are afraid there will be lots of disruption, but the contractors have agreed to work around our schedule as much as possible because we cannot afford to close the pool at all if we can possibly help it.
Hopefully everyone will be understanding and continue to swim as much as they can throughout the summer and manage to enjoy the experience despite the building work. While we want everyone to take an interest in how the work is progressing, we ask that everyone keeps well away from the work area and abides by all the Health & Safety requirements. Thank you.
SwimNarberth Article: “There will be a "looking forward to summer" page in the Narberth Breeze magazine in the next issue. Remember to have a look when it comes through the letter box!” Narberth Breeze is a free magazine, distributed in the local area. http://www.breezemag.org
A Very Big Thank You________________
To everyone who helped us to move the old shed on Sunday and to Carrie-Ann and Kelly for making them all tea!
To Jaqueline who spends so much time putting our 'Pool Notes' together!!
But especially to you for Supporting your pool!
Any ideas?: Anybody with brilliant ideas for fundraising activities -always appreciated. We are always looking for new ways of fundraising.
If you are able to help out during Long Course or Ironman, we can raise £200 for 10 volunteers registered by us, as part of our team (more info below)
IRON MAN IS HERE AGAIN!!
You will be based in and around Narberth, either marshalling or at a feed station. The event participants are very appreciative of the feed stations. Where you are sited would be decided nearer the time. Volunteers need to be 16+ years. On the day you need a packed lunch, a chair and a smile.
-You get a free T.shirt and a nice, fuzzy feeling that you have helped your local pool.
Who out there has some time to volunteer on reception, just a couple of hours a week? Who has great FUNdraising ideas to contribute? Who can spare a bit of time to clean? Many hands make light and fun work and volunteering looks good on your CV, or as part of your DofE….please get in touch!! Thank you
